I suddenly realised I hadn’t posted a recipe in a fair while so tonight I decided to share my new favourite recipe with you, yes it’s a simple one but sometimes those are the best!
Burgers are such an indulgent comfort food but the traditional option is usually packed with bad fats and loads of extra calories – enough to derail any healthy lifestyle. Instead of giving them up however, I like to make a healthy alternative which is just as delicious – you can put in any herbs and spices you like but this is my personal favourite and is so simple to make!
Ingredients (serves 2-3)
500g Turkey Mince
Small red onion, chopped
2 Cloves of garlic, finely chopped
Juice of half a lime
Salt and Pepper
- Simply mix all of the ingredients together, then form into roughly 6 patties
- Heat a little coconut or avocado oil in a pan and fry off the burgers – I gave them about 5-7 minutes on each side, but just until they are cooked through
(P.S. I made the burgers then covered half and put them in the fridge until the next day – the second time round tasted even better so if you have time, pop the burgers into the fridge before cooking for all the flavours to infuse!)
